Advancing Multilingualism Through Purposeful Bilingual Education

Beijing International Bilingual Academy (BIBA)’s bilingual program is central to its mission of developing internationally minded, compassionate global citizens. Through bilingual education, students gain deep cultural understanding, strong multilingual proficiency, and enhanced higher-order thinking skills while developing the motivation to contribute meaningfully to the world.

The WASC accreditation process has played a key role in strengthening BIBA’s bilingual program. Guided self-reflection, expert feedback from the Visiting Team, and a sustained focus on student impact have helped the school move from passive implementation to intentional, high-quality bilingual practice. Ongoing WASC engagement also supported the creation of clear quality assurance structures, including a dedicated Bilingual Committee.

As a result, students demonstrate increased cultural awareness, global perspectives, and aspirations for international study. A diverse international faculty further enriches daily learning, fostering authentic intercultural experiences across the school community.
