Katy Kruska

Katy Kruska is one of two Commissioners representing the California Association of Private School Organizations (CAPSO) on the WASC Commission. With more than 25 years of experience in education, Katy has served as a primary grade teacher, junior high teacher, and currently as a Catholic elementary school principal at St. Bernardine of Siena School in Woodland Hills, California. Katy holds a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from Sonoma State University, a master's degree in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University, and a Certificate in Catholic School Administration, also from Loyola Marymount University. Throughout her career, Katy has served on numerous accreditation teams as both a visiting committee member and chairperson through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, supporting schools in their continuous improvement efforts. In 2026, she was honored with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Angel Award for Catholic Educators, a distinguished recognition celebrating exemplary servant leadership and dedication to Catholic education. Katy resides in West Hills, California, where she enjoys spending time with her family and reading as much as she possibly can!
