Edgar Arceo
Edgar Arceo is one of the two Commissioners representing the California Association of Private School Organizations (CAPSO) on the WASC Commission. Edgar currently teaches psychology, coaches soccer, and heads a boys dormitory at The Thacher School, a high school boarding school in Ojai, California. Having taught in various independent schools for the past decade, Edgar has also worked in public schools domestically and abroad (South America). After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kenyon College, he later earned a Master of Arts in Language Pedagogy from Middlebury College, and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, through the Independent School Residency (ISTR) Program. As an educator, he is most animated by both classroom- and school-level inquiry aimed at bolstering student learning and leadership through effective school cultures. In the classroom, he is passionate about teaching psychology as a way to help students navigate their adolescent development. He lives on the Thacher campus with his lovely wife, Nicole.
