Dan Anderson

Dan Anderson is a representative of the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) on the WASC Commission. He is the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Monterey. He began his career teaching special education at the middle school and high school levels in Santa Cruz, California. He then became a principal at the nearby Catholic elementary school in 2008 which led him to two other principal positions- one at an international school in South Korea and another in Bellingham, Washington. He returned to California in July 2024 after 16 years in administration to lead the Diocese of Monterey which includes 15 Catholic schools across four counties. Dan has a B.A. in English from Santa Clara University and an M.S. in Educational Administration from National University. He is beginning a doctoral program at Saint Louis University this fall. He is currently the treasurer for WCEA, and he has been a part of multiple accreditation visits since becoming a principal in 2008.
