Typically, one or two WASC Representatives serve on joint ACSI, CAIS, or HAIS Visiting Committees. WASC Representatives serve as integral members of the Visiting Committee and work collaboratively with the partnering association to evaluate the school utilizing both WASC criteria and other pertinent standards applicable to the particular school.
One of the important responsibilities of the WASC Representative is to assist in the team's understanding of whether or not the school is effectively addressing WASC criteria. WASC Representatives work with the rest of the Visiting Committee in determining the recommendation of term, which is then submitted with necessary supporting documentation to both the WASC Commission and the partnering association's Commission for final action regarding joint accreditation status.
WASC Representatives are asked to attend a training workshop prior to the visit.
- WASC Representatives for Joint ACSI Visiting Committees attend the WASC Chair training.
- WASC Representatives for Joint CAIS and Joint HAIS Visiting Committees attend separate training workshops sponsored by the respective joint association.
Please visit Calendar of Events for more information on training workshops.
